Reduce moisture with Orthopedic Cast Covers

Suffering a fall or injury, resulting in broken bones is never fun. Healing times are long, plaster dressings are cumbersome, and often impede daily living routines. This includes showering and bathing. Internal moisture of orthopedic encasements often result in itching, discomfort and unpleasant odors, which often results from exposure to water. While nothing can eliminate healing times, reducing exposure to moisture certainly provides a a more positive healing experience.

Unpleasant elements, such as odors, are greatly reduced by providing less exposure to moisture. Odors are often the result of excess moisture in the lining, which creates bacteria. While some of this occurs naturally during perspiration, moisture during bathing and showering can be greatly reduced by using a cast cover. Covers are used to keep the area dry, while reducing odors, itching, and bacteria. They lock out moisture, and accelerate dryness within the lining of the cast. Keeping the area dry means odors and discomfort are reduced. When water is kept from seeping into the lining excessive itching is also reduced.

Itching adds to the discomfort of the healing process, which is greatly minimized when exposure to water is elimated. This means anxiety and nervousness resulting from itching is reduced or eliminated, creating advanced comfort. The presence of excessive moisture in the cast lining is also greatly subdued, as are health complications, such as skin irritations, and infections. This creates a more positive, comfortable, and easier healing environment. Casts also do not need redressed to address bacteria and moisture issues.

The seal tight protection design keeps water and moisture away from the cast through a water proof protection seal. It easily slips on, and is easily removed, providing optimum comfort. It is also reusable with orthopedic casts, splints, and bandages for the duration of the healing process. Covers provide water-proof protection, and are worn temporarily while bathing and showering. Providing moisture relief is not only necessary to reduce odors, but for an overall positive healing experience. They increase mobility regarding water, reduce discomfort, and make activities related to water much more worry-free.

Cast covers are also available in a variety of sizes. Individuals should measure the width, length, and circumference of the cast before purchasing covers. Orthopedic bandages, splints and leg and arm casts should be smaller than covers. Once purchased simply slip the cover on before showering or bathing, and lock the seal. Bathe as usual, without anxiety about bandage, splints, or orthopedic devices.
